The Lead Host will play a crucial role in ensuring exceptional guest experiences by managing reservations, greeting guests, and overseeing the front-of-house operations. This position requires strong communication skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to effectively manage guest relations while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. Steelbach is a Southern-inspired kitchen and chophouse offering innovative food paired with timeless flair. Duties/Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome guests upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression. Manage reservations and seating arrangements using Open Table. Assist guests with inquiries about the menu, specials, and restaurant services. Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction. Handle guest complaints or concerns with professionalism and empathy to enhance guest relations. Train and supervise junior host staff to maintain high standards of service. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host area and waiting areas. Utilize effective phone etiquette when answering calls for reservations or inquiries.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Previous experience in a hospitality or restaurant setting is required. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with guests and team members. Familiarity with Reservation system, particularly Open Table, is a plus. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing guest flow. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure. A passion for providing outstanding guest services and enhancing overall guest experiences.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED Hospitality certification is a plus. Previous experience as a as a Host/Hostess or Waiter/Waitress Experience in managing reservations.
Physical Requirements:
Remain standing for extended periods of time. Bending, squatting and lifting up to 15 lbs. for short distances. Ability to work with varying noise levels.
