POSITION PURPOSE

The Lead VIP Pool Host-person is responsible for ensuring the prompt recognition and seating of all guests in the pool outlets as assigned and assists the servers in providing attentive, courteous, and efficient service to guests throughout their dining experience at Baia Beach Club.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Accept accurate and complete reservations. Handle reservation book, take incoming telephone calls, note reservations and special requests by guests. Book Daybeds. Focus on pool reservation requests. Control the flow of work in the room by seating guests in station rotation while maintaining guest lists and following and enforcing check issue procedures. Assigning of co-host’s positions to focus on for their shifts. Ensures the overall success of the Host team and each associate individually. Reports daily feedback pertaining to the overall growth and development of the team, and areas of improvement. Attends all scheduled Host meetings and brings suggestions for improvement. Responsible for training new hostess and reporting daily feedback to Management regarding training progress. Use guest names and communicate them to their fellow associates. Assist in monitoring all guest needs and communicating them accordingly. Follow the posted opening and closing duties. Strive for customer satisfaction by meeting all personal and special requests. Uses every opportunity to enhance the guest experience. Has necessary knowledge of menu items to assist guest occasionally. Inform Managers on a daily basis of reservations forecast. Ensure quality control of menus with regard to cleanliness and appearance. Perform opening and closing duties according to established side work checklist. Have a complete knowledge of standards of service for receiving a room service order. Have a thorough knowledge of menus and current specials in all applicable departments. Assist the Management team as needed.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Excellent customer service skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient on OpenTable and SevenRooms. Commitment to excellence and high standards. Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. Bilingual skills a plus. Acute attention to detail. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. High school or equivalent education required. Two to Four (2-4) years of experience in Host/Hostess supervisory role in the restaurant/ hospitality industry position required. Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates, or permits.
