Job Description
Birthday Party Host – PT 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars 777 East Princeton Street, Orlando, FL 32803 The Birthday Party Host is responsible for general party set up and break down including, but not limited to decorations, food, experiments, and clean up. The Birthday Party Host will be responsible for keeping birthday guests engaged and safe throughout the entire party. Essential Functions Leads and facilitates the birthday party including disbursement of cake, ice cream and beverage, educational programming, and general clean up. Demonstrates a full understanding of birthday party themes and the educational component including the science content. Expresses a passion for working with children and exemplifies a love of science. Maintains an energetic and positive attitude throughout the party. Engages all guests during the party through the use of experiments and party games. Collaborates with other Birthday Party Hosts during Birthday Parties to share responsibilities and to help ensure each birthday guest is receiving exemplary customer service. Fulfills scheduling requirements by having full weekend availability. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
Completion of 10th grade, H.S.
Experience & Certifications:
Customer service experience. Experience working with children (K-12) in an informal setting. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or A.A. Coursework in Education or Science field. Supervisory Responsibility N/A Physical Demands Ability to remain in a stationary position. Moves throughout the museum. Ascends/descends stairs throughout the museum. Observes and reacts to the needs of guests, staff, volunteers, and community partners. Communicates and exchanges accurate information with guests, staff, volunteers, and community partners in a variety of formats including in-person, electronically, and over the phone. Operates a computer and/or office equipment efficiently and accurately. Manipulates and moves components weighing up to 25 pounds, including those that may be low to the ground or above eye level. Rarely works in outdoor environments. Frequently works in indoor environments. Coping with demands and stresses associated with job and work environment. Kneeling and Crouching (frequently) Weight Levels – Lift, Push, Pull Up to 25 pounds Expected Hours of Work & Travel This position is part time. Hours can vary based on the needs of the organization. Telecommuting This position is required to be onsite 100% of the time.
