SALARY:
Starting at $ 37,080 (commensurate with experience)
SUMMARY:
Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, visitors, and property. The Security Host will assist in monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting grounds, controlling access points, greeting constituents, and responding to emergencies as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential duties of the Security Host include, but are not limited to, the following: Greet constituents and provide directions or assistance as needed. Observe and assess constituents and team member behavior to identify potential security concerns. Appointment system assistance. Collection and processing of correspondence and documents either mailed or hand delivered to the office. Assists with monitoring surveillance equipment and conducting regular patrols to ensure the security of the premises. Complete incident and/ or disturbance reports. Assists in any investigation of missing, stolen or lost items in conjunction with OCPA management. Communicate any security concerns to the appropriate management personnel and/or authorities. Meet all attendance and punctuality requirements by reporting for work consistently and on time according to agency policy. Performs other duties as assigned. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time, with or without notice.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Years of experience: Must have two (2) years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Education:
Associate degree (AA) or equivalent in criminal justice, emergency management, or homeland security from a two (2) year college or technical school.
Substitution:
Each year of required education may be substituted by two (2) years of work experience. Each year of required work experience may be substituted by two (2) years of additional education. Computer skills required : Internet Software; Spreadsheet Software (Excel); Project Management Software; Word Processing Software (Word); Electronic Mail Software (Outlook); Presentation software (PowerPoint). Certificates, licenses, and registrations required : The professional designation of Florida Class D security license is required or must be obtained within a two-year period, given course availability.
Additional skills required:
Must be proficient in Adobe Acrobat. Ability to create and edit PDF documents, prepare fillable forms, and share and review forms.
Language Skills:
Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
