This key figure has the unique opportunity to be the first and last person that a guest sees and speaks with. A successful Host is completely tuned in to effectively read the guest’s emotions and physical cues as they walk through the door. This enables you to engage properly with the guest and give appropriate service from the start of their experience. They are attentive to the overall guest experience and safeguard against anyone going unnoticed in the restaurant. You are both Greeter and Gate Keeper, managing the seating process and making sure to balance operations to ensure guests have a pleasant experience.

Expectations And Job Duties Will Include But Not Be Limited To The Following:

Read emotions and physical cues from guests. Aware of operational flow of restaurant at all times Properly distribute tables among servers with appropriate timing. Properly space seating to allow the kitchen preparation time. Ability to describe all menu items, features and promotions. Accurately answer menu questions over the phone and in the restaurant. Provide eloquent phone service at all times. Receive take-out orders and accurately ring them in on the POS. Control emotions at all times. Ability to keep impatient guests calm. Confidently handle situations at the front door. Maintain a friendly countenance at all times. Give pleasant exit greetings to all guests. Maintain cleanliness of dining room, bathrooms and workstations. Perform opening and closing duties as well as running sidework. Function as a team unit with other staff members. Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times. Maintain a valid Food Handler’s Certification. Arrive before scheduled time in appropriate uniform.
