Position Objective:

As a restaurant host/hostess, you are responsible for welcoming guests to our establishment and ensuring they receive outstanding service from the moment they arrive. You will manage reservations, seating guests, coordinating with the service team, and maintaining a tidy and welcoming entryway. Your role is essential in providing a positive first impression and excellent hospitality to all guests.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Clearing tables of dishes, utensils, and glassware promptly and efficiently. Assisting in resetting tables for the next service. Helping servers with delivering food and beverages to tables. Refilling water glasses and providing basic service to guests as needed. Removing trash and ensuring cleanliness of dining areas, including floors, chairs, and countertops. Assisting in polishing silverware, glassware, and other dining utensils. Collaborating with servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to ensure efficient operation. Adhering to health and safety standards and regulations.

Basic Qualifications:

Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a hospitality or restaurant setting. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Strong organizational abilities with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations. Proficiency with reservation systems (e.g., OpenTable) is advantageous. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Capacity to lift and carry trays or other items as needed. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.

Expectations:

Greeting and Seating Guests:

Warmly welcome guests as they enter the restaurant. Escort guests to their tables and provide menus. Manage seating arrangements to accommodate reservations and walk-in guests effectively.

Reservations Management:

Take and manage reservations via phone, online platforms, or in-person. Record reservation details accurately and update the seating chart accordingly. Confirm reservations and manage any changes or cancellations promptly.

Customer Service:

Provide exceptional customer service to guests throughout their dining experience. Address any inquiries or special requests from guests in a polite and professional manner. Assist guests with seating preferences, special occasions, or accessibility needs.

Communication and Coordination:

Coordinate with servers, bussers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation. Communicate effectively with the dining room team to manage table turnovers efficiently. Manage the waitlist during peak dining hours, estimating wait times accurately.

Maintaining Cleanliness and Organization:

Keep the host/hostess station, waiting area, and entryway clean and organized at all times. Ensure dining tables are set up and ready for guests in a timely manner. Monitor and manage the flow of guests to maintain a comfortable and efficient dining environment.

Promotions and Upselling:

Inform guests about daily specials, promotions, and upsell items when appropriate. Encourage guests to join loyalty programs or subscribe to newsletters for future promotions. Adherence to

Pay:

$11.00 per hour plus tip-out this brings the hourly total to $14-$16 per hour Must be at least eighteen years of age
