Job Description

Host/Hostess Table 20 20 South Wall Street, Cartersville, GA 30120 We are looking for a part time host that can work a few nights a week Tuesday

  • Friday / Saturday morning and/or night. The PM shift hours are 4:30pm
  • 9:30pm and Saturday AM shifts are 11:00am
  • 3pm.

Pay starts at $10 plus tip out, which brings the hourly pay to approx. $16+ per hour. Please consider these hours when applying! The Host plays a critical role in providing a welcoming and efficient dining experience for guests. As a Host, you will be the first point of contact for guests, managing the seating rotation, and ensuring that guests are greeted and seated promptly. This is a part-time position, typically during peak dining hours.

Responsibilities:
Guest Reception and Seating:

Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner as they arrive at the restaurant. Manage the guest waiting list and estimate accurate wait times. Escort guests to their designated tables, ensuring efficient seating and table turnover. Maintain a clean and organized reception area.

Reservation Management:

Receive and manage table reservations, ensuring accurate recording and communication to the serving staff. Coordinate with servers and management to optimize table allocation and minimize wait times. Assist in managing any special seating requests or accommodations from guests.

Queue Management:

Maintain an organized and efficient waiting list, keeping track of guests’ arrival times and seating availability. Provide accurate wait time estimates and updates to waiting guests. Communicate effectively with guests, managing their expectations and providing a positive experience during wait times.

Communication and Coordination:

Collaborate with the serving staff, kitchen, and management to ensure smooth communication and efficient table turnover. Relay important guest information, such as allergies or special requests, to the serving staff and kitchen team. Communicate any VIP or special guest arrivals to the appropriate staff members.

Cleaning and Organization:

Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the host station, waiting area, and entrance. Monitor and manage the availability of menus, promotional materials, and other guest-related items. Help maintain a clean and tidy restaurant environment by coordinating with the support staff.

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a host or in customer service roles is preferred but not required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members. Strong organizational skills to manage waitlists and seating rotations efficiently. Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations with professionalism and grace. A positive and friendly attitude with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. Flexibility in working evenings, weekends, and holidays as per the restaurant’s needs. Basic knowledge of restaurant operations, menus, and seating arrangements.
