Job Description

Host/Hostess Broken Keel 115 East River Street, Savannah, GA 31401 Host/Host At The Broken Keel we believe that Southern Hospitality is the art of making a guest feel so comfortable and welcome that they feel they are in their own home. Seeking an enthusiastic candidate who has a strong passion for customer service, as well as food and beverage excellence with a keen eye for details. Host positions are available. The pay is $12 an hour plus tip out from the staff. This amounts to $16-20 an hour on average Competitive compensation for host staff, (Above industry average). Medical/dental benefits are available after an introductory period. Full-time host positions available. Weekend availability is required. Duties:
  • Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant
  • Escort guests to their tables and provide them with menus
  • Assist guests with seating arrangements and accommodate special requests
  • Take and relay reservations or waitlist information to the appropriate staff
  • Answer phone calls and provide information or take messages as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized host/host station
  • Communicate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations
  • Manage the flow of guests in the restaurant to ensure timely seating
Skills:
  • Excellent guest relations skills with a friendly and welcoming demeanor
  • Familiarity with hotel or restaurant operations is a plus
  • Strong phone etiquette and communication skills
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of food service procedures and basic menu items
  • Understanding of guest services principles and practices
  • Proficiency in using POS systems, such as Aloha POS, is preferred
  • Demonstrated hospitality skills with a focus on creating a positive dining experience Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities or skills required for this position.
