Job Description
Dining Room Host(ess) Prema at Ashton Hills 10050 Eagle Drive, Covington, GA 30014 The Host/Hostess role entails ensuring that residents are treated to freshly prepared meals, presented in a restaurant-style manner, all day long. This is achieved with a touch of professionalism and genuine care, fully aligned with both federal and state regulations as well as the dining standards set by Prema Senior Living. In this capacity, you will not only be assisting residents and guests but also embodying the essence of restaurant-style meal service for the Main Dining Room. This encompasses tasks such as table setup, proficiently taking food and beverage orders, elegantly serving residents and guests, and efficiently clearing tables. Furthermore, your responsibilities extend to maintaining the dining room’s pristine condition — from thorough vacuuming to meticulous table clearance and cleaning. After each meal service, it will be your responsibility to ensure that tables are promptly reset, leaving the dining environment immaculate for subsequent use.

Qualifications:
Prior experience in caregiving, particularly to older adults, is preferred. Proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking. Compassionate, with a strong desire to work with older adults. The minimum age requirement is 18 years, with a satisfactory criminal history check. Must be medically fit, certified by a licensed physician, and must pass a drug screening test. Awareness and understanding of the risks related to exposure to infectious waste, disease, chemicals, solutions, and disinfectants. Ability to respond appropriately during emergency situations.
Primary Responsibilities :
Serve food in line with nutritional guidelines, local health regulations, and individual resident diets Support care partners in delivering quality meals during main dining times Follow the All Day Dining program for serving residents and guests Promote resident independence in eating by providing adaptive equipment as needed Assist with washing dishes after meal services and events Arrange and offer healthy snacks at appropriate scheduled intervals Orient new residents to menus, seating, dining hours, and options Ensure timely and courteous delivery of meals and drinks Maintain awareness of resident food preferences and honor them Take daily meal orders from residents Address customer service requests and handle complaints Notify Food Service Director or Lead Cook of any kitchen equipment issues Sanitize tables, chairs, condiments, and dining equipment Vacuum dining room after each main meal Perform spot cleaning of carpets as required Wash and prepare linen napkins for table settings Share resident feedback with Food Service Director for menu planning Communicate residents’ absence during meal times to the kitchen staff Relay requests for meals outside scheduled times to the kitchen staff Inform kitchen staff about guests joining for meals Foster teamwork and cooperation among all staff members Ensure complete and fresh table settings, including condiments Serve beverages, refill coffee, tea, and other drinks during meals and throughout the day following the All Day dining program Note changes in resident status, preferences, or needs, and inform the Wellness Director Assist care partners in clearing dining tables during main meal periods Clean and check all dishware and glassware. Ensure clean utensils, dishes, and glassware are stored in appropriate locations. Maintain a clean dish washing machine and dish room. Execute assigned cleaning tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures and use appropriate cleaning chemicals. Maintain clean and clear work areas. Ensure that dishes are available for the next meal. Reset dining tables promptly with clean place settings, ensuring condiments are replenished after meals Carry out additional assigned duties as necessary
Physical Job Demands and Requirements:
Assist in the transfer of residents, adhering to proper body mechanics and safety measures. Ensure compliance with local health department regulations and the Prema Senior Living policies and procedures Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dining room environment Ensure proper storage and handling of food in accordance with infection control standards Maintain CPR & First Aid certification. Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds. Frequently kneel, bend, and reach. Sit for up to two hours a day. Frequently support up to 70 pounds.
