General Manager Job Summary:
The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests and plays a vital role in setting the tone for the dining experience. This role is responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing reservations and waitlists, and ensuring smooth guest flow and satisfaction throughout their visit.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival. Manage reservations and maintain an organized waitlist using a seating chart or reservation software. Escort guests to their tables and present menus. Provide accurate wait time estimates during busy periods. Answer phone calls and assist with guest inquiries, reservations, and takeout orders if applicable. Monitor dining room activity to ensure timely table turnover and guest satisfaction. Communicate effectively with servers and managers to coordinate seating and service flow. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entrance, and lobby areas. Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned. Uphold a positive and welcoming attitude at all times to create a memorable guest experience.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Previous customer service or hospitality experience preferred. Friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
