WE ARE HIRING HOME VISIT COORDINATOR & RECRUITER
(HVC&R) Overview Hummingbird Student Tours organizes international exchange programs from the spring into the fall. Each program can last up to 2.5 weeks but typically 8
- 14 days.
Your Home Visit Coordinator & Recruiter functions will start as soon as possible. Home Visit Coordinator & Recruiter is a pre-program job. This is categorized as an Independent Contractor. The role of this person is to screen potential host families from a list of families who have already agreed and completed an application to be considered as a host family as well as to call through a list of interested student hosts to share details about hosting and what it entails. This call is to the parents of the students who signed up for more information. There is email and text follow up as well as calls evenings and weekends. •
HOME VISITS WILL BE IN THE
Nashua/Amherst/Mont Vernon/Manchester/Salem
NH AREAS
- HVC&R will schedule home visit at mutually agreed upon time . Each host family visit (HFV) will take approximately 30 minutes. HFVs must be done in a timely manner so as to keep the momentum rolling in the process. Each HFV is paid at a rate of $25/hfv. Coordinator will be paid upon receipt of invoice and completed online paperwork. (Venmo is preferred method of payment)
- Each HFV requires meeting at least one parent at the home .
- Each HFV requires a tour of the home , including the room where the student will stay.
Let the family know that it is a requirement of Hummingbird Student Tours that a representative has seen the home and bedroom. If they seem uncomfortable with this, you may be able to ease their discomfort by saying that you are sure they would want the same sort of attention in the screening process if their child were traveling abroad to live with a host family.
- Each HFV requires completion of Home Visit Questionnaire as well as evaluation of the home as suitable or not.
This will give you an opportunity to determine the motive the potential host family has for hosting a student. Ask them what their expectations are from the experience; be sure they are reasonable. Ask them if they have hosted before; perhaps they have concerns from stories they have heard or an experience they themselves has had.
- The purpose of a home visit is to ensure that each home is clean, comfortable and suitable for our visiting guests.
The purpose is also to know what sort of neighborhood the home is in; to have met the family and have an idea as to who that family is so as to make the best possible match for our students and host families. In visiting each home, ask yourself, “would I want my son/daughter to live with this family?” The answer should be a “Yes”. If it is not, determine what is making you uncomfortable with this home/family. #findinghostschools #findingfamilies#homestays#exchanges#travel Qualifications (note: this is NOT a day job and it is NOT a full time job) Must be available to work some evening and weekend hours to ensure we reach all parents from interest sign up list. 3+ years of proven administrative and/or project management experience.
