In 1988, the company opened its first restaurant in Syracuse and has continued to grow to five locations serving delicious Bar-B-Que throughout New York State. We are currently looking for a Front of House Supervisor to join our team at our Harlem, NY location. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operations & Guest Service Trained, validated, and consistently demonstrates applied competence across all FOH areas (host, bar, server, runner, expo, and bussing). Ensure exceptional guest experiences through attentive, friendly, and efficient service. Monitor guest flow and table turns to ensure a smooth and timely dining experience. Support FOH execution by assisting team members during peak times and adjusting deployment to meet operational needs. Maintain awareness of wait times, table status, and service issues; communicate effectively with the host and service teams. Ensure FOH cleanliness, organization, and adherence to sanitation and safety standards. Verify that all FOH team members are following proper procedures, including order entry, check handling, and service timing. Assist with the rollout of new service initiatives and menu items. Resolve guest concerns in the moment and escalate as needed to management, always aiming for guest satisfaction. Uphold hospitality and brand standards at all times, reinforcing a culture of care and service. Adhere to company uniform and grooming policies to uphold a professional and cohesive appearance. Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards, including health and safety requirements. Supervision & Teamwork Lead by example in delivering excellent guest service and supporting FOH responsibilities. Assign daily tasks and oversee FOH team performance, promoting efficiency, accountability, and hospitality. Consistently lead high-performing shifts, ensuring smooth service and effective team coordination. Assist in onboarding, training, and mentoring FOH team members to uphold service standards. Monitor adherence to service procedures, health and safety policies, and guest experience expectations, providing feedback when necessary. Support team development by fostering a respectful, collaborative, and guest-focused FOH culture. Serve as a role model by embodying the company culture, maintaining professionalism, and encouraging a positive team environment. Communicate effectively with the management team to ensure service alignment and guest satisfaction. Communicate collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure seamless service and resolve any FOH-related concerns. Participate in pre-shift meetings to relay key service and operational updates to the team. Always portray a favorable image of the restaurant, reinforcing brand values through actions, integrity, and leadership. Perform related duties as assigned by the management team to support overall restaurant success.
Work Experience Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of front-of-house experience in a full-service restaurant environment. Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred. Strong knowledge of guest service standards, bar operations and front-of-house operations. Understanding of food safety regulations and FOH best practices. Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
