Restaurant Hostess Back Desk Global East Village, NY About Us We’re a high-volume neighborhood restaurant in the heart of East Village, known for exceptional service, a vibrant atmosphere, and quality dining. We’re looking for a polished and personable Host/Hostess to be the face of our guest experience. Role Summary As a Host/Hostess, you will be the first and last impression for guests. You’ll manage reservations, greet guests, organize seating flow, and support smooth front-of-house operations. Responsibilities Greet and seat guests with a warm, professional attitude Manage waitlists and reservations using [OpenTable/Resy/other tool] Coordinate table rotations with servers and management Answer phone calls, take to-go orders (if applicable), and provide accurate wait times Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and front area Deliver a smooth and elevated guest experience at all times Handle guest issues with professionalism and urgency Qualifications Prior experience as a host/hostess or in a customer-facing role preferred Strong verbal communication and multitasking skills Friendly, energetic personality and a team-first mindset Ability to stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with reservation platforms (e.g. OpenTable, Resy) is a plus Flexible availability — evenings, weekends, and holidays Perks Competitive hourly pay + tips Meal discounts Supportive team culture Growth opportunities within the group
