Host/Hostess Bjs Steak and Rib House 17 North Market Street, Selinsgrove, PA 17870 Job Summary We are seeking a friendly and organized Host/Host to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring a positive dining experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, a passion for customer service, and the ability to manage guest relations effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Greet guests warmly upon arrival and guide them to their tables. Manage reservations and maintain an organized seating chart. Answer phone calls with professionalism, providing information about the restaurant and taking reservations as needed. Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow. Handle guest inquiries and complaints with grace, striving to resolve issues promptly. Utilize POS systems, such as Aloha POS, for managing orders and processing payments efficiently. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and dining area. Assist in promoting special events or menu items to enhance guest experience. Experience Previous experience in a hospitality or restaurant environment is preferred but not required. Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction. Familiarity with POS systems is a plus, particularly Aloha POS. Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills are essential for effective guest interactions. Ability to work in a team-oriented atmosphere while also being self-motivated. A background in hotel or guest services is advantageous but not mandatory.
