The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth guest flow. This role is essential in providing excellent guest services and enhancing the overall dining experience. Who We Are Rappahannock Oyster Company, founded in 1899, launched Rappahannock Restaurant Group to showcase the work of farmers and fisherman while educating guests about “good food, grown well.” Our Charleston location is our largest and offers an incredible abundance of local seafood and produce to highlight the best of our region. Responsibilities Greet guests warmly upon arrival and escort them to their tables. Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using OpenTable Communicate effectively with the kitchen and waitstaff to ensure timely service. Assist guests with inquiries regarding menu items, specials, and restaurant policies. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and dining area. Help resolve any guest complaints or issues promptly to ensure satisfaction. Collaborate with team members to provide exceptional hospitality and guest relations. Monitor dining room activity to optimize seating arrangements and minimize wait times. Qualifications Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with guests and staff. Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Toast, is a plus but not required. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure. A passion for providing outstanding guest services and enhancing the dining experience. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed. Why Join Us?
