Host/Expo/Busser Herd Provisions Charleston, SC 29403 Herd Provisions is hiring an experienced Host/Expo to join our team. We are located downtown in the Hampton Park neighborhood with plentiful FREE parking (public lot across the street) and easy street parking on Grove Street and beyond. We are seeking to attract an individual who wants to be part of something unique in Charleston. Our full service restaurant & butcher shop offers an innovative dining experience showcasing our absolutely stellar meat products supplied by our farm in VA (Leaping Waters Farm).

respect, sustainability, & transparency and hope you are too! We specialize in grass fed & pastured raised animals, most notably the revered Ancient White Park cattle. LWF is one of a half dozen farms in the US who raise this storied breed, known to be the oldest observed and recorded breed in the Western Hemisphere. All of Herd Provisions animals from Leaping Waters Farm are given free range to roam the plentiful pastures with access to the mixture of grasses that have been sown for the seasons: spring oats (grass), winter rye, clover in the summer, and a blended variety in the fall. Additionally, they live lives free of herbicides, pesticides, antibiotics, and hormones, which means the meat they provide is just as natural as the spring waters from which they drink. Raising animals on open pasture means the livestock is able to choose their own diet, and it also allows the animals to replenish the soil upon which the cattle rely. The good news is, since the Ancient White Park Cattle were such a revered breed, they were protected from ever entering into the industrial agricultural system and therefore still have the innate ability to gain weight from whatever forage, be it grasses, wild roses or onions, they can find. This therefore creates a flavor of beef that is unlike any other, not to mention healthier (higher in omega-3s, lower in cholesterol) for the consumer. We are looking for a passionate and professional Host with a stellar work ethic who is willing to be part of a small and committed team. This can be a position where you can be cross-trained as an expo, support person, and/or server, if you’d prefer. Responsibilities Greet and seat guests promptly, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Manage reservations and maintain an organized waiting list. Assist servers and kitchen staff by providing support during busy periods. Handle guest inquiries and concerns with professionalism and courtesy. Operate the POS system efficiently for order processing and payments. Uphold high standards of cleanliness and organization in the dining area. Collaborate with team members to enhance overall guest experience. Qualifications Previous experience as a host/hostess in a restaurant setting Strong customer service skills and a passion for hospitality Excellent communication abilities to engage with guests effectively Familiarity with POS systems, such as Aloha or Micros Background in guest relations and hotel services is a plus Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
