As the first point of contact for guests, you will be responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere while managing reservations, seating arrangements, and member inquiries. The ideal candidate is friendly, professional, organized, and thrives in both slow and fast-paced environments. Job Tasks/Duties Greet members and guests warmly (by name when possible) upon arrival. Manage reservations through ClubEssential, promptly communicating changes to the Food & Beverage Manager(s). Thoroughly completes pre and postshift duties, with ongoing tasks during the shift as needed. Handle all incoming phone calls, answer member inquiries, manage reservations, and provide information about club events. Promptly notify the supervisor of member complaints as they arise. Attend staff meetings, including preshift (lineup), as required. Work collaboratively with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service. Maintain cleanliness of tables, soft seating, hostess stand, and surrounding areas. Assist servers when necessary, including: o Distributing and clearing menus Taking and placing beverage orders oProviding tableside water service Delivering and serving beverages oClearing empty glasses and cleaning tables as needed Uphold health and safety regulations to ensure a positive dining experience for all guests. Process credit card and member charges in accordance with standard operating procedures. Comply with all state, local, and club policies regarding the service of alcohol; immediately inform a manager if service to a member or guest is questionable. Consistently follow proper sanitation practices, including personal hygiene standards. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Food & Beverage Manager(s). Job Knowledge, Core Competencies, and Expectations Prior experience as a host/hostess or in a customer service role is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and remain composed under pressure. Professional appearance and welcoming demeanor. Familiarity with reservation and seating software is a plus (ClubEssential preferred). Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
