Who We Want:

We are seeking a skilled Host/Hostess to join us Kersey House. The Host/Hostess is the first impression of our restaurant and are skilled at greeting guests upon arrival, informing guests of their wait time, monitoring the reservation list, entering names into the reservation platform, and interacting with guests upon arrival and exit. The Host/Hostess should be an example of establishment’s friendliness, excellent service, and high standards. Our ideal candidate has years’ of experience working in an upscale restaurant setting, preferably at the front door. Applicants should possess leadership abilities, be relaxed, and always know his or her next step. As with all of our Front of the House employees, our Host/Hostesses are attentive to our guests’ needs, making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and at home. Strong candidates will be able to communicate effectively, work well under pressure, and strive to provide timely and accurate service. A sense of urgency is required for this position. This is job has great potential for growth and room for advancement. Some duties include but are not limited to:

• Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant
• Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently
• Provide accurate wait times and manage guest expectations
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized lobby area
• Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
• Handle guest inquiries and resolve any issues promptly
• Uphold high standards of customer service and guest relations
• Assist in other front-of-house duties as needed

Requirements:

• Ability to lead team members
• Previous experience in a host/host role or similar customer-facing position
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on phone etiquette
• Strong customer service orientation with a passion for hospitality
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment
