Job Summary:
Represents the Hotel to the guest throughout all stages of the guest’s stay by working with all Hotel personnel to ensure every guest experiences superior customer care. Responsibilities include registering guests, assigning rooms, accommodating special requests, and ensuring the guests have a pleasant stay and smooth checkout.
Job Duties:
Maintains an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments Possesses a working knowledge of the reservations department. Takes same day reservations and future reservations when necessary. Knows cancellation procedures Knows room locations, types of rooms available, and room rates Registers arriving guests and assigns rooms Coordinates room status updates with the housekeeping department by notifying housekeeping of all check-outs, late check-outs, early check-ins, and special requests Uses persuasive selling techniques to sell the guest rooms and meeting room Knows daily activities and meetings taking place in the hotel Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to the Manager Manages and resolves all guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner Processes guest check-ins and check-outs and handles monetary transactions. Ensures the cash drawer balances each shift Maintains customers’ privacy Processes lost and found items Processes faxes daily Responds to guest requests via email Alerts management about maintenance needed in a room. Follows maintenance procedures Informs manager when you are low on supplies or do not have the proper equipment and tools to do your job Maintains security of equipment, keys, and supplies issued each day Walks the property to ensure it is secure and meets Hotel standards Adheres to break policies. Complies with attendance rules and be flexible with scheduling Maintains a professional image through appearance and dress uniforms Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times with other employees and with the guests Ensures front desk supplies are fully stocked Performs other duties as assigned
