JOB PURPOSE
This position is primarily responsible for the overall supervision and coordination of activities of front desk agents and front desk night auditors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assignments and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ensure efficient and smooth operations for producing excellent guest satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provides support to Front Desk team, and oversees the Front desk operations, promoting team work
- Trains front desk staff on duties and responsibilities, answer and resolve incoming calls
- Assist the Front Desk Manager and Front Desk Assistant Manager in the operational duties of the front desk. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Supervises daily shift process ensuring all team members adhere to standard operating procedures and are friendly and attentive to guest needs and service.
- Resolves customer issues, complaints and problems in a quick, efficient manner to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality service.
- Maintains a friendly, professional, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.
- Trains and directs the work flow and processes of the front desk. Resolves issues/problems and coaches and counsels the front desk team members to ensure a quality operation.
- Responds to telephone and in-person inquiries regarding reservations, hotel information and guest concerns in a timely fashion.
- Answers inquiries from potential guests and accepts hotel reservations.
Consistently resolves guest problems and complaints in an efficient manner while demonstrating a sense of urgency.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Experience as front desk representative or previous supervisory hospitality experience in a similar position. 2 years of front desk experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Great communication and people skills. Computer knowledge and experience in Microsoft office applications such as excel and word is also required.
Physical:
Requires standing for long periods of time and on occasion may be asked to lift and carry up to 40 pounds while performing the duties of this job. This position is a working supervisor position. Evenings, weekends and holidays are required. Bilingual a plus
