Job Overview The Catering Sales Manager plays a crucial role in driving revenue and ensuring the successful execution of catering events for the company. This position involves overseeing the entire catering sales process, from initial client contact to post-event follow-up. The Catering Sales Manager collaborates closely with the culinary team, event coordinators, and other departments to ensure exceptional customer experiences and successful events. This role requires a combination of sales acumen, organizational skills, and a strong understanding of the catering industry. What you’ll be doing
Sales and Business Development:
Proactively identify and target potential clients for catering services. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of catering leads. Conduct sales presentations and negotiations with potential clients. Prepare and deliver detailed catering proposals, contracts, and pricing. Work to achieve and exceed sales targets and revenue goals.
Client Relationship Management:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients. Understand clients’ needs and preferences, offering tailored catering solutions. Address client inquiries, concerns, and special requests promptly. Provide excellent customer service throughout the sales process and beyond.
Event Planning and Coordination:
Coordinate with event planners to ensure seamless event execution. Plan and organize logistics, including equipment, staffing, and setup details. Oversee event timelines, ensuring all aspects run smoothly.
Marketing and Promotion:
Assist in the development of marketing strategies to promote catering services. Participate in trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities. Contribute to the creation of marketing materials and online content.
Reporting and Analysis:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities and client interactions. Provide regular sales reports and performance metrics to management. Analyze market trends and competitor offerings to inform pricing and strategies. Skills and Abilities Bachelor’s degree in business, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Highly Preferred. Proven experience in catering sales or a related sales role. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Familiarity with catering industry trends and practices. Proficiency in Marriott CI/TY, Microsoft Office, and relevant sales tools. Exceptional negotiation and presentation skills.
Working Conditions & Physical Effort:
Physical work is a primary part of many of our hotel and resort jobs. Physical requirements include extended standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting to 50 lbs. Some work is performed in an interior hotel environment with equipment and machines.
