Full Job Description Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager to help oversee the daily operations of our hotel in Nashua, NH. The Assistant General Manager will work closely with the General Manager to ensure the smooth operation of all departments, including guest services, housekeeping, maintenance, and food & beverage. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily hotel operations, ensuring efficient service delivery and guest satisfaction across all departments.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and lead department heads (front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, food & beverage) to ensure all hotel functions run smoothly. Provide support, guidance, and training to staff.
Guest Satisfaction:
Address guest complaints and concerns promptly, ensuring that all issues are resolved to maintain high levels of guest satisfaction and loyalty.
Financial Management:
Assist in monitoring and managing hotel budgets, including overseeing payroll, operating costs, and inventory management. Help identify opportunities for cost control and revenue growth.
Staffing & Recruitment:
Help recruit, train, and manage hotel staff, ensuring all team members provide high-quality service and are compliant with company policies and procedures.
Quality Control:
Ensure compliance with brand standards, local laws, and health and safety regulations. Conduct regular audits of guest rooms, public spaces, and operational processes to maintain high cleanliness and safety standards.
Sales & Marketing:
Assist in developing and implementing marketing strategies to increase occupancy, promote services, and attract repeat guests.
Problem Solving:
Resolve operational challenges, including staffing issues, guest concerns, or maintenance problems, by working proactively with the appropriate departments.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in hotel management, preferably in a supervisory or managerial position. Strong leadership skills and experience managing diverse teams in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of hotel operations, guest services, budgeting, and cost control. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. Proficiency in hotel management systems and Microsoft Office suite. Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred but not required.
