The Surf Lodge is seeking a hands-on, dynamic Hotel General Manager to oversee all aspects of operations at our 21-key seasonal hotel in Montauk, NY. This is a rare opportunity to lead a boutique property with global recognition — where luxury hospitality meets laid-back coastal living. You will be responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experiences, managing seasonal staff, and driving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is an experienced hotelier with a passion for service, strong leadership skills, and the ability to operate at the fast pace of a high-profile summer destination.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee daily operations of the 21-key boutique hotel, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and guest services
Hire, train, and manage seasonal staff — fostering a culture of professionalism and hospitality
Ensure exceptional service standards and personalized guest experiences
Manage budgets, P&L reporting, vendor relations, and supply ordering
Collaborate with ownership and other departments (restaurant, events, brand) to align operations with broader business goals
Handle guest issues with grace, discretion, and resolution-driven mindset
Maintain property condition and ensure readiness for peak-season occupancy

REQUIREMENTS 3-5

years experience as a Hotel GM or senior hospitality management role
Proven ability to manage small teams and boutique-scale operations
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Tech-savvy with experience in PMS systems
Flexible, solution-oriented, and calm under pressure
Strong understanding of seasonal hospitality, especially in high-demand leisure markets
Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as required during the season
