Hotel General Manager Confidential Bethlehem, PA 18020 Position Summary The Hotel General Manager serves as the face of the property and is ultimately responsible for every aspect of the guest experience. From ensuring personalized check-ins to maintaining a pristine and comfortable environment, the GM leads by example—setting the tone for a culture rooted in accountability, hospitality, and attention to detail. This individual must be passionate about service, proactive in operations, and driven to continuously improve both guest satisfaction and team performance. Key Responsibilities Guest Experience Leadership Champion a service-first culture that puts guest satisfaction and loyalty at the forefront. Personally respond to guest concerns and feedback with empathy and urgency. Monitor online reviews and guest satisfaction scores (e.g., Medallia, SALT, TripAdvisor), and lead initiatives to consistently improve rankings and feedback. Walk the property daily to ensure brand standards and cleanliness are upheld in all guest-facing and back-of-house areas. Operational Oversight Oversee all hotel departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage (if applicable), and Sales. Ensure that service delivery aligns with brand and company standards at all times. Conduct regular team meetings and pre-shift huddles to align on goals, guest feedback, and areas of focus. Maintain a visible presence during peak hours, including weekends and holidays. Team Development Recruit, train, and mentor team members to deliver exceptional service and hospitality. Create a culture of respect, recognition, and accountability. Conduct performance evaluations and coach staff to meet both service and operational expectations. Foster cross-training and succession planning to build internal bench strength. Financial and Business Management Develop and manage the hotel’s annual budget, ensuring alignment with revenue targets and cost control strategies. Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly reports, including occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and labor metrics. Partner with the sales team to drive group and transient revenue, local partnerships, and brand initiatives. Oversee Accounts Receivable and ensure timely, accurate billing and collections. Property Standards and Safety Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, brand audits, and local/state/federal laws. Maintain all physical aspects of the property in good working order through routine inspections and proactive maintenance. Lead emergency response and crisis communication plans when necessary.
