The Front Desk Manager position is responsible for the short-term planning and day-to-day operations of the Front Office Department. The major areas of responsibility/management include Front Desk, PBX, Bell Stand, Concierge, Valet, and Night Audit. This position recommends, implements, monitors the Department’s budget, and manages expenses within approved budget constraints.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Manage the daily operations of the Front Office to comply with SOPs, maximize revenues and motivate employees to ensure an optimal level of quality service and hospitality is provided to all hotel guests. 2. Respond to guest requests and issues. 3. Manage the front office associates; interview, scheduling, training, development, empowering, coach and counsel, provide performance reviews, annual evaluations, problems resolution, provide open communication and recommend discipline, as appropriate. 4. Monitor and control expenses and labor.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
This job requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one-year prior hotel management experience or equivalent work experience. A Hospitality degree is preferred. Knowledge of Infor is a plus. Must be able to achieve positive guest relations and maximize guest satisfaction. Strong understanding of hotel operations. Strong communication skills and the ability to handle cash and credit transactions. Must work a flexible schedule to include AM and PM shifts, weekends and holidays. Must have a valid driver’s license. Driving record will be reviewed.
