Immediate Supervisor – General Manager
Job Summary
The Manager in Training will complete a rotation of operational departments in the hotel to gain knowledge on day to day functions. This position is intended to develop, mentor and coach the candidate into a successful role as a manager within the company.
What you will be doing
Essential Job Functions
Performs the functions of the assigned department, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Food and Beverage, and Sales.
Display a positive, upbeat attitude. Provide information concerning hotel, facilities and functions, as well as, their location.
Engage in activities that will foster growth and learning.
Function as shift lead/supervisor and participate in Manager on Duty program.
Perform tasks assigned by the General Manager or Department Manager.
Increase customer satisfaction scores through training and follow up.
Increase employee morale.

Necessary Skills and Attributes
Excellent verbal, comprehension, listening and problem solving skills.
Willingness to have an open mind regarding tasks assigned; each day will provide an opportunity to learn new skills and enhance on the job training.
Guest relation skills.
A flexible schedule to be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and graveyard on call. (Candidate must not want specific days off.)
Ability to lead and direct staff.
Assist in the management of training, payroll budget and scheduling, policies and procedures, and achieving service-based revenue goals.
Passion to provide exemplary guest service
Valid driver’s license
Ability to read, write, and speak English
Proficiency with basic computer (PC) and office technology
Strong oral and written communication skills, inclusive of the ability to listen effectively and to speak clearly
Attention to detail
Planning and organizational ability
Formal Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferably a college degree in Hotel Management and/or minimum of one year hotel related work experience.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; bend; walk; use hands or finger; or feel objects, tools or controls; lift boxes (up to 15 pounds); talk and hear. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision to a computer screen.
