As the Founding Director of Housekeeping, you’ll be responsible for establishing and leading the team that ensures our rooms and public spaces are not just clean, but quietly exceptional. You’ll build the systems, train the team, and set the tone for how The Compton shows care through every corner of the guest experience.
In this role, you will:
Recruit, train, and lead a housekeeping team that takes pride in thoughtful, consistent service.
Create clear processes and quality standards that support both efficiency and excellence.
Implement inventory and scheduling systems to ensure smooth daily operations and long-term sustainability.
Collaborate with other departments to support a seamless hotel opening and deliver a stay that feels effortless for our guests.
Foster a positive, respectful team culture rooted in accountability, support, and care.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED with minimum 3-5 years of progressive housekeeping leadership experience in luxury or boutique hospitality
OR Associate’s degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred
Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing housekeeping teams
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Expert knowledge of luxury housekeeping standards, cleaning protocols, and quality control systems
Advanced understanding of housekeeping technology, inventory management, and operational efficiency best practices
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams
Strong time management and delegation abilities with proven success in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
Financial acumen with experience managing departmental budgets and controlling operational costs
Deep understanding of safety protocols, chemical handling, and regulatory compliance requirements
Physical Demands
Ability to walk extensively throughout the property and navigate multiple floors via stairs and elevators
Capability to lift up to 30 pounds and assist with physical housekeeping tasks as needed
Comfort working in various environmental conditions including laundry areas, storage rooms, and outdoor spaces
Availability for flexible scheduling including weekends, holidays, and emergency response situations
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform detailed inspections requiring close visual attention
