Oversees day-to-day operations for area of responsibility. Coaches and counsels employees toward performance improvement; disciplines when necessary.

hires and terminations. May assist with budgeting. Uses discretionary judgment in the management of staff, customers and visitors. May provide staff education and training. Serves as key resource for staff in their day-to-day job duties. Identifies and facilitates opportunities for improvement in the areas of quality care and services, stewardship, employee satisfaction, communication, accountability and customer satisfaction. Oversees the quantity, quality and productivity of the employees for area of responsibility, the morale of those employees and working relationships with co-workers and other staff members. Standard Work Duties:
Supervisor
- Environmental Services Using a collaborative leadership style, facilitates the achievement of department and hospital-wide quality, safety, satisfaction and stewardship goals.
Monitors and tracks data/reports as identified by the department leadership. Coaches employees and focuses on ongoing staff development. Oversees the orientation of new employees, assesses the ongoing competence of all employees and conducts performance appraisals. Proactively addresses performance and behavioral issues and acts to modify actions and behaviors to facilitate effective relationships and outcomes. Schedules and assigns staff to insure that workload is met. Responds to complaints, adverse situations, unplanned circumstances or problems to insure that work is completed efficiently, staffing needs are met, customer and staff satisfaction concerns are addressed appropriately and expected outcomes are achieved. Actively supports and appropriately applies department and organizational policies. Consistently demonstrates commitment to personal accountability as well as that of the staff. Trains and educates employees on the proper procedures to be utilized in the performance of their job responsibilities as documented by one to two instances per month. Administers communication in a timely and consistent manner, ensuring a professional and respectful exchange of information and ideas as documented through Assistant or Director observations with one to two instances weekly.
