Under general supervision and following prescribed procedures, this job supervises environmental service aides in accomplishing the housekeeping services of the hospital interior and related hospital properties, as well as to coordinate these activities with other department; assumes responsibility for 24 hours/ 7days a week seamless service of environmental services assigned staff, performing cleaning and/or project work at the company’s medical facilities as a working supervisor; and monitors environmental services employees to ensure that area assignments are maintained in a safe, clean, aseptic and operationally effective condition. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Shift:
Monday-Friday 2:30PM-11:30PM Education Required
- High School diploma or equivalent Preferred
- Associates degree in Business Administration or Management Work Experience Required
- 1 year supervising experience Preferred
- 1 year supervising experience in health care or hotel Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Knowledge of regulatory environment; knowledge of cleaning chemicals; proper use and maintenance of power equipment, such as automatic scrubbers, carpet shampooer, etc.
; proper floor care; carpet textile; upholstery fabrics; wall and floor coverings; wood; and synthetic finishes. Strong supervisory skills to ensure that work techniques, quality assurance standards, department policies and procedures and job specifications are adhered to. Strong interpersonal communication, service recovery and conflict mediation skills to deal courteously and build relationships with employees, patients, families, visitors, nurses, physicians, unit directors, etc. Job Duties Supervises and leads Environmental Services Aides to maintain assigned area in a clean and aseptic manner. Exhibits responsibility for the professional development of employees and maintains required professional knowledge and technical skills. Exhibits effective communication and customer service skills. Exhibits the skills to adapt to change and accept constructive criticism in a positive constructive manner. Other related duties as required. The incumbent works with patients who have known or suspected communicable diseases and may enter isolation rooms. The incumbent has an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases. Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste.
