Housekeeping Manager Role Description:

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing daily housekeeping operations and basic maintenance at designated NCG theaters, ensuring excellence in Presentation, Cleanliness, and Hospitality (PCH) through implementation of the “See It, Clean It” methodology, employee management, and maintaining exceptional facility standards. This leadership position demands outstanding attention to detail, team management skills, and operational expertise, including basic maintenance abilities.

Hands-on Leadership:

Direct involvement in maintaining cleanliness and maintenance standards

Lead by example in maintaining presentation, cleanliness, and hospitality standards

Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform basic maintenance tasks

Key Responsibilities:

PCH:

Presentation, Cleanliness Standards, and Hospitality Excellence (20%) Implement and maintain the “See It, Clean It” methodology across all areas Conduct regular cleanliness audits focusing on: Auditoriums (nightly and weekly duties) Restrooms (nightly and weekly duties) Main Foyer, lobby and Hallways (nightly and weekly duties) General Areas (nightly and bi-weekly duties) Train cleaning crew on proper cleaning protocols Ensure immediate response to cleanliness issues Maintain exceptional presentation standards throughout the building 2. Building Maintenance and Repairs (20%) Perform weekly building audits documenting all maintenance issues Execute basic maintenance and repairs including: Minor seat repairs and maintenance Light vacuum/equipment repair Bathroom fixture repairs (faucets, dispensers, etc.) Floor/wall/ceiling lighting repair and replacement Door hardware adjustments Basic plumbing repairs including water filter replacements Minor wall repairs and touch-up painting Sidewalk snow removal when applicable Create and track maintenance tickets for issues requiring specialized attention Maintain detailed vendor/maintenance logs and repair history Participate in ongoing maintenance training Implement preventative maintenance schedule 3. Staff Management and Training (15%) Recruit, train, and supervise housekeeping team Create and manage staff schedules Provide ongoing training and development Monitor team performance and provide feedback Ensure proper staffing levels for all shifts 4. Inventory and Supply Management (15%) Maintain adequate cleaning supply inventory Organize storage areas and janitorial closets Monitor and control supply usage Implement inventory tracking systems Ensure proper chemical storage and MSDS compliance Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and parts Track maintenance tool inventory Ensure proper storage of maintenance equipment 5. Building Organization and Weekly Audits (10%) Conduct comprehensive weekly building audits including: Structural elements Mechanical systems – sinks, toilets, doors, cleaning equipment, etc Furniture, seats, dispensers and fixtures Safety equipment Lighting systems Document all findings and create action plans Prioritize repairs based on urgency Maintain organized documentation system Follow up on all identified issues 6. Budget Control and Communication (10%) Manage cleaning supplies budget Track expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities Maintain regular communication with management and vendor relations Provide updates on cleaning operations Report maintenance issues promptly 7.
