POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Cleaning Operations Manager reports to the Operations Manager and COO and is responsible for managing and executing all cleanliness and quality efforts in the Pittsburgh market. This role is central to maintaining HostWise’s 5-star standards and delivering exceptional guest experiences. This is a hands-on role that involves leading a team of cleaners and vendors, conducting quality checks, managing supply logistics, and collaborating across departments. Approximately 75% of the role is field-based (in units or our warehouse), with 25% spent handling logistics, scheduling, and reporting tasks from a computer or mobile device.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading all cleaning operations across the Pittsburgh portfolio Managing and maintaining a daily and weekly cleaning schedule Hiring, training, and overseeing cleaners and contractors Performing property inspections and delivering performance feedback Identifying and resolving cleanliness or maintenance issues quickly Coordinating with laundry services and managing vendor performance Monitoring and stocking property supplies, including toiletries and amenities Charging, testing, and replacing smart devices (locks, Wi-Fi, etc.) Supporting other city managers remotely as needed Reporting landscaping or exterior cleanliness issues Tracking and reporting guest feedback, issue resolution, and cleaning KPIs Supporting other special projects or initiatives as assigned by leadership Must be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and being physically active across multiple properties

REQUIREMENTS

To be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate the following: 5+ years of experience in hospitality, housekeeping, restaurants, or other fast-paced environments Proven leadership experience managing teams in cleaning or hospitality settings (STR preferred, hotel & hospital acceptable) Excellent communication skills with a focus on team leadership and issue resolution Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment Tech-savvy and very comfortable using mobile apps, digital scheduling, and cloud-based tools Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required Able to lift up to 50 lbs and navigate stairs frequently Comfortable working independently and taking initiative in day-to-day responsibilities Benefits 18 days PTO 10 floating holidays QSEHRA health benefits after 6 months (Up to $225 / month) 401(k) eligibility after 6 months $100/month fuel benefit $50/month cell phone benefit Flexible hours — ground operations typically run from 9-10 AM to 5-6 PM Preferred schedule: Thursday – Monday (can be flexible) Culture is NOT “punch in, punch out” — flexibility and initiative are valued
