POSITIONSUMMARY

Housekeeping Supervisor directs the housekeeping, laundryand floor services for the entire campus. This includes thescheduling and coordination of the housekeeping and floor carestaffs under the supervision of the Director of Facility Services.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Represents the campus ina positive manner while creating an environment that fostersrespect and courtesy for residents and employees alike. Workswithin the campus programs to encourage and promote safety and thewell-being of all residents and employees. 2. Upholds the campus’sMission Statement. 3. Maintains HIPAA standards and regards allmedical or healthcare information pertaining to residents andemployees as confidential. 4. Supervises the housekeeping staffsincluding interviewing, hiring, training, counseling, disciplining,evaluating, scheduling, supervision and coordination of daily workactivities. 5. Orders cleaning supplies for housekeepingdepartment. 6. Removes trash located in the collection areas of thecampus. 7. Cleans inhabited and vacant units to “like new”condition (including but not limited to the cleaning of cabinets,surfaces, floors, glass, windows, walls, fixtures, window sills,appliances, etc.) 8. Cleans all building areas to “like new”condition (including but not limited to the cleaning of cabinets,surfaces, floors, glass, windows, walls, fixtures, window sills,etc.) 9. Checks shipments and deliveries from vendors. 10. Leadsgroup cleaning projects and coordinates with outside vendors.

OTHERDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Travels occasionally for trainingsessions, continuing education opportunities, emergency situations,and other company functions. 2. Responsible for knowledge of fireand safety procedures including those involving blood-bornepathogens. 3. Remains in proper uniform at all times and maintainsa high standard of appearance. 4. Completes all work/cleaningorders in a timely manner. 5. Comprehends budget and exercises costcontrol. 6. Interacts well with marketing tours and prospectiveresidents. 7. Maintains excellent resident and employee relations.

Handles complaints and recommendations constructively. 8. Attendsemployee in-services as required. 9. Accepts other duties asrequired by the Director of Maintenance.

PREREQUISITES

A.Education

• High school graduation or GED required.
• Technicalcertification from a janitorial program desired. B. Direct PreviousExperience
• Janitorial or maintenance experience required.
• Twoyears experience in a similar housekeeping position desired.

C.

Skills:

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must conductall business with a professional manner and with a high level ofconfidentiality.
• Ability to use hand tools, carts and dollies.
• Exhibits efficient computer skills.

D.

Abilities:

• Work outdoorsand indoors during the work day (fluorescent lights, HVAC system,carpeted flooring, normal office noise levels).
• Climb up to twoflights of stairs.
• Lift objects of 25 pounds or less over thehead.
• Move objects of 40 pounds or more.
• Ability to work undertime-sensitive or stressful situations.
• Respond to medicalemergencies on a rare occasion.
• Assist with resident evacuations,if ever required.
