Avalon Health Care – E. Roy Stone, Jr. Veterans Pavilion is hiring for Housekeeping Manager! Effective July 1, the E. Roy Stone Veterans Pavilion on the CM Tucker campus, will transfer to the SC Department of Veteran Affairs from the SC Department of Mental Health. Avalon Health Care, a privately operated company experienced in the long-term care needs of Veterans, will operate the Veterans Home for the SC Department of Veterans Affairs. $26.00 per hour Full Time shift available! The housekeeping manager supervises the facility’s day-to-day housekeeping and related functions to include staffing, supply ordering, and supervision to ensure facility policy and standards are met and oversee and manage all aspects of the laundry operations of the facility.

Supervise other staff in the day-to-day facility operations of assigned areas. Make job assignments and set priorities. Orient new staff and participate in recruitment and selection. Communicate policies, assist and coach as needed. Monitor work assignments, provide feedback, evaluate performance, and discipline as needed.
Maintain records, manage budgets and supplies, and fulfill department head responsibilities.
Ensure equipment and work areas are clean, safe and orderly. Enforce strict adherence to procedures regarding cleaners or hazardous materials or objects. Ensure Universal precautions and infection control, isolation, fire, safety, and sanitation practices and procedures are followed. Promptly address any hazardous conditions and equipment.
Assist others in lifting as requested and function as a working supervisor in all areas of responsibilities as the department’s budgeted hours and work load require. Qualifications
Must have the ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions in English.
Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and to work cooperatively with other associates.
Must be able to interface positively with personnel from regulatory agencies.
Must meet all local health regulations, and pass post-employment physical exam if required. This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background investigation and reference inquiry.
Related experience required.
Must have excellent leadership skills.
