Director of Environmental Services John Alex Consultants Memphis, TN 38128 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Environmental Services to lead our team in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation within our facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in custodial management, particularly within hospital or healthcare environments, and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of environmental services. This role is crucial in ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and industry standards for cleanliness and sanitation. Oversee all custodial operations, including commercial cleaning, floor care, and waste management. Manage the environmental services team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations. Conduct regular inspections of facilities to ensure adherence to cleanliness standards and identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate cleaning schedules that minimize disruption to hospital operations. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; ensure proper usage and maintenance. Stay informed about new cleaning technologies and methods to enhance service delivery. Prepare reports on departmental performance metrics and present findings to senior management. Requirements Proven experience in environmental services management, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations related to custodial services. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness standards. Ability to develop training programs focused on best practices in sanitation and safety protocols. Proficiency in commercial cleaning techniques and floor care maintenance.
