Inspector Hu Hotel 79 Madison Avenue, Memphis, TN 38103 Job Overview A Room Inspector in a hotel setting is responsible for ensuring that guest rooms meet the established standards for cleanliness and maintenance. They inspect rooms after they have been cleaned by housekeeping staff, verify that all required amenities are present and in good condition, and report any deficiencies or maintenance issues. They may also assist with training new housekeeping staff, resolving guest complaints, and maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies. Responsibilities Thoroughly inspect guest rooms, bathrooms, and public spaces to ensure they meet cleanliness and condition standards. Record inspection results, noting any deficiencies or maintenance issues and reporting them to the appropriate personnel (e.g., housekeeping management, maintenance team). Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and amenities, ensuring adequate stock levels in guest rooms and on housekeeping carts. Address guest complaints related to cleanliness or maintenance and escalate them to management as needed. Assist with training new housekeeping staff on proper cleaning procedures, safety guidelines, and brand standards. Adhere to all safety and security protocols, including key control, emergency procedures, and proper use of cleaning chemicals. Maintain effective communication with housekeeping staff, front desk personnel, and other departments to ensure smooth operations. Accurately record room statuses, inspection results, and other relevant information in the property management system. Qualifications Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for identifying even minor issues with cleanliness and maintenance. At least 2 years of room attendant experience. Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary for reporting issues, providing feedback, and interacting with guests and colleagues. Familiarity with hotel cleaning standards, safety guidelines, and brand-specific requirements. The role may involve standing, walking, and carrying items for extended periods.
