Custodian/Janitor Bellingrath Gardens and Home – 2.7 Theodore, AL Job Details Full-time $12 – $14 an hour 11 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Qualifications Sanitation Driver’s License Cleaning Entry level Full Job Description Responsible for all cleaning aspects of the Admissions Building, Cafe/Gift Shop Building, Horticulture/Development Office Building, and Lath House. This position is responsible for overall cleanliness of facilities as well as restocking housekeeping supplies and working safely with cleaning chemicals. This position may require occasional work on weekends and some holidays and may be requested to support other departments during special events and programs.

• Clean, disinfect, and restock Admissions, Cafe/Gift Shop, Horticulture Office, and Lath House buildings and associated restrooms
• Vacuum all carpets and rugs in the Theater Room and other buildings
• Dust/check for cobwebs in all above-listed buildings
• Clean windows and doors of fingerprints, smudges, and dirt
• Sweep, remove and dispose of trash from above-listed buildings (including porches)
• Ensure all light bulbs in above-listed buildings are working/restocked
• Mop the floor in the entry area from front door to front of Café tables
• Clean, restock, and sanitize the Horticulture Offices and Greenhouse (“Lath House”) buildings restrooms daily
• All other tasks and duties as assigned
• Housekeeping experience: mopping, sweeping, sanitizing, window cleaning, etc. preferred
• Must be able to lift 20+ pounds
• Must be able to work some weekends and special events
• Able to work safely with chemicals found in bleach, cleaners, etc.
• Strong work ethic – consistently demonstrating dedication, responsibility, and a positive attitude towards one’s work.
• Good interpersonal communications skills
