Custodian – Temporary Position Available In Naugatuck Valley Planning Region, Connecticut

CUSTODIAN -TEMPORARY POSITIONDEPARTMENT OF AGING SERVICESSUMMARY

Keeps assigned indoor or outdoor area in clean, safe and orderly condition. Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, maintain all floors, stairs and office space. Dusts shelves and furniture, washes windows. Cleans office areas and bathrooms and maintains supplies. Empties trash and garbage containers. Assists with room set-ups as needed. Mows lawn, rakes, trims shrubbery, and cultivates flowers. Uses trimmers, leaf blowers, lawn mowers, snow blowers, etc. Maintains knowledge of general operation of small power equipment and machinery. Assignment may change from building to building to meet operational needs. Considered to be essential personnel for weather and other building and grounds emergencies as required.

WORKSCHEDULE and

CLASSIFICATION

Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. 37.50 hours per week, temporary, non-benefited position. Assignment will be 10 to 12 weeks in length.

QUALIFICATIONS

RequiresHigh School graduate or equivalent, valid Connecticut Drivers License with excellent driving record. One year of relevant experience required. Must have ability to work in extreme weather conditions and perform strenuous activities. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.

WAGES:

$22.00/hour, non-benefited position.
