SUMMARY:
Provides timely cleaning of patient rooms and supports cleanliness across various departments. Performs daily cleaning tasks including discharge cleaning, routine patient room maintenance, cycle cleaning, office cleaning, and cleaning of all ancillary areas to ensure continuous, efficient patient care and smooth daily operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
– Perform discharge and cycle cleanings of patient rooms. Performs cleaning of ancillary areas such as, offices, restrooms, Nurses station, shower. Perform daily floor maintenance (sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping) to prevent slips, falls, and contamination. Wash walls, ceiling, and woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills etc. Spot clean walls, windows, high and low dusting, doors, stainless steel, etc Dusts furniture and equipment. Disinfects and sterilizes equipment. Respond promptly to spills, blood borne pathogens, and hazardous material cleanups. Restocks supplies. Follow strict infection control protocols to prevent the spread of bacteria, viruses, and hospital-acquired infections (HAIs). Disinfect and sanitize patient rooms, restrooms, and high-touch surfaces (e.g., door handles, bed rails, and call buttons). Use hospital-approved disinfectants and proper cleaning techniques to eliminate harmful microorganisms. Properly handle soiled linens, biohazardous waste, and bodily fluids to prevent contamination. Adhere to hand hygiene and personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols for personal and patient safety.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma, or general education degree (GED) and one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience If required to operate hospital vehicles, valid driver’s license required.
