The opportunity
Delaware North Parks and Resorts is searching for a full-time Custodial Supervisor to join our team at Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, Florida. As a custodial supervisor, you will, under the direction of the Cleaning Manager, oversee and assign associates to clean the facility, in accordance with the Company’s applicable Operational Standards and GuestPath Universal Service Standards.

What will you do?
Scheduling cleaning associates’ shifts, breaks, and meal breaks, and supervising daily.
Ensures sanitation guidelines are maintained, and if applicable, documentation is maintained.
Interacts on occasion with guests while cleaning guest areas and meeting rooms. Assists guests as needed.
Maintain knowledge of the union contract as it pertains to the Cleaning Department.
Maintain the cleaning department equipment, schedule repairs, and write work orders for maintenance and repair problems.
Ensures all lost and found items are turned in to the Security Podium daily.
Ensures all stock rooms and work areas are neat, clean, and organized, checks inventory/order supplies, and ensures the hourly restroom checklist is completed.
Conducts final walk-around to assure that assigned areas meet Company Standards.
Maintain a close working relationship and open communication with all supervisors and managers.
Instruct associates on chemical, machine, and cleaning procedures.
Drive a company vehicle around KSC property. More about you
Must be 21 years old and High school diploma or equivalent degree required.
Must have a valid driver’s license and transportation to and from work. Ability to be Badged by NASA.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and e-mail.
Two years of supervisory experience required.
Previous commercial cleaning and/or guest service experience preferred.
Guest service oriented; ability to adhere to the Company’s GuestPath Universal Service Standards.
Ability to make simple addition/ subtraction calculations and able to read/write in English.
Ability to understand, follow, and train OSHA guidelines.
Available to work the night shift (2pm-10pm), weekends, and holidays.
Physical requirements
Frequent walking and standing for the entire length of the shift, frequent climbing of stairs. Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, and carrying.
Use of hands to operate cleaning equipment and complete scrubbing/washing duties.
Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Visual acuity sufficient to inspect the cleanliness of rooms and surfaces.
Occasionally exposed to fumes and toxic or caustic chemicals.
Occasionally works in outside weather conditions.
Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
Noise level may be moderate to loud.
