Janitorial Technician I Alpha Facility Services Palm Bay, FL The Janitorial Technician I is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment within the assigned facility. This includes cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, offices, common areas, and other spaces, as well as handling waste disposal, minor repairs, and other related tasks to ensure the facility is well-maintained.

Description Key Responsibilities:

Cleaning & Sanitization Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors. Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors. Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, chairs, and other furniture. Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors. Waste Management Empty and clean trash cans, recycle bins, and other waste containers. Dispose of waste and recyclables in accordance with local regulations. Replace trash liners and ensure proper waste segregation. Maintenance Perform minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs, unclogging drains, and fixing door handles. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor. Restock supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and other consumables. Outdoor Cleaning Sweep and clean building entrances and walkways. Remove snow, ice, or debris from sidewalks as needed. Maintain outdoor trash bins and clean up litter around the building. Safety & Compliance Follow all safety protocols and use cleaning chemicals and equipment properly. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Other Duties Assist with setting up and breaking down meeting rooms or event spaces as needed. Respond to emergency cleaning requests in a timely manner. Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

Previous custodial or Janitorial Technician experience is an advantage.

Skills:

Ability to work independently and efficiently. Strong attention to detail. Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures. Good physical stamina; ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods. Ability to perform repetitive tasks and handle cleaning equipment. Must be able to work with various cleaning chemicals safely. Work Schedule Typical shifts may include early morning, evening, or night hours, with potential weekend work depending on the facility’s needs. Salary $15 – $17 per hour
