Job Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Janitorial Supervisor to lead a team of custodial employees at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. This position ensures that all public and secured areas of the airport — including terminals, restrooms, concourses, and baggage claim — remain clean, safe, and welcoming for travelers, employees, and airport personnel. Janitorial Cleaners are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in all assigned areas of the airport, including restrooms, terminal seating areas, gates, baggage claims, and employee areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Janitorial Supervisor Supervise and direct janitorial staff across multiple airport zones and shifts to maintain cleanliness standards 24/7. Assign tasks, create work schedules, and adjust staffing levels to meet operational demands. Conduct daily inspections of airport facilities to ensure compliance with cleanliness, safety, and TSA/FAA regulations. Train new and existing employees on cleaning procedures, use of airport-approved chemicals and equipment, and safety protocols. Ensure staff adherence to security badge access policies and procedures in restricted areas. Coordinate with airport operations, tenants, and security teams to respond to urgent cleaning needs and passenger concerns. Maintain accurate inventory of cleaning supplies and request restocking as needed. Report facility maintenance issues to appropriate departments or contractors. Complete documentation, including shift reports, incident logs, and employee evaluations. Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, and safety within the janitorial team. Janitorial Cleaners Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize airport floors and surfaces Clean and restock restrooms regularly throughout the shift Empty trash and recycling bins and transport waste to designated areas Clean glass surfaces, elevators, escalators, and waiting areas Respond quickly to spills or sanitation emergencies Follow all safety, security, and cleaning protocols Work independently or with a team to complete daily assignments

Qualifications:

Janitorial Supervisor High school diploma or GED preferred; associate degree or supervisory certification preferred. Must be a citizen of the United States of America. 2+ years of custodial experience in a high-traffic or transportation facility, with 1+ year in a supervisory role. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage a diverse team. Knowledge of airport cleaning standards and familiarity with FAA, OSHA, and TSA guidelines. Must pass an airport background check and obtain a security badge (SIDA clearance). Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays in a 24/7 environment. Ability to walk long distances, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs. Janitorial Cleaners Prior janitorial or cleaning experience preferred (airport or hospitality a plus) Must pass a background check and obtain airport security clearance Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays Physical ability to stand, bend, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods Positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Work Environment:

This role operates in a fast-paced, secure airport environment with exposure to public spaces, cleaning chemicals, and noise. Must be able to adapt to changing needs and emergencies quickly.
