Your passion:

To represent Jesus Christ, the ministries of Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale and the schools of Calvary Christian Academy (CCA). The Facilities Event Set-Up Technician works with the various church ministries /volunteers and with CCA staff to assist in event preparation and planning, event set-up and event breakdown. Your specific focus is to assist the Event Set-up Manager by administering all aspects of facilities coordination in ways that would be pleasing and glorifying to God.

Convinced a relationship with Jesus changes everything in a person’s life Committed to keeping your family as your first ministry Dedicated in your personal study of God’s Word Consistently placing a high priority on worship and your personal prayer life An excellent and generous steward of your personal finances Obedient to God to take a Sabbath and make space for soul-keeping Deeply compassionate towards people who are in need or hurting Excited about global missions and local outreach – you want to change the world You will: Work closely with Event Set-Up Supervisor and Events team to assess needs for upcoming events Be responsible for assessing the facility and equipment needs for each event and overseeing the allocation of resources for those events Attend meetings initiated by the General services manager or Event set-up supervisor to go over facility and event setup needs for upcoming events Monitor event setup requests and schedule via Ministry Platform Provide facilities set-up for all events shown on the weekly event schedule while working under the oversight of the Event Set-Up Supervisor Set-up directional and room signs; set-up of furniture, fixtures, banners, pallet walls and other needs specific to a particular event Be responsible for weekly custodial tasks coordinated by the Event Set Up Supervisor Assist with breakdown following events and returning furniture, fixtures, A-frame signs, Banners, etc. and other miscellaneous items to proper storage areas Work with the Event Set-Up Supervisor, Facilities department staff, church staff, CCA staff and volunteers to accomplish event set-up, breakdown, and return of equipment and furnishings as directed by the Event Set-Up Supervisor Work with the Event Set-Up Supervisor to develop the most efficient means of facilitating event set-up needs including use of carts, dollies, forklifts, golf carts, trucks, vans and maximizing storage capabilities Work with the Event Set-Up Supervisor and Communications Department to implement and maintain a system for placement and storage of interior and exterior directional and room signage including A-Frames signs, banners, pallet walls Assist with tasks assigned from the Event Set-Up Manager not specifically related to events. This may include but is not limited to: Care of Radios, Pest Control, Storage organization, Custodial work, laundering skirts and mops, etc. Participate in all tasks related to cleaning the buildings including restrooms, floors, glass, removing waste, stocking paper and soap products, and similar activities Utilize various tools, equipment, and chemicals in order to complete the work Assist with service and care of equipment used in the cleaning of the buildings; helps to assure that the used items are cleaned and properly stored after each use You have: A positive attitude and strong work ethic A willingness and ability to perform physical work Great communication skills Interpersonal skills for relating effectively with staff, temporary employees, volunteers, and outside vendors The ability to handle multiple tasks at one time The ability to plan, organize and comprehend many projects, events Some knowledge of Excel, Word and have the ability to read, understand and execute Ministry Platform within a short period of time The ability to work in both indoor/outdoor environments Flexibility and good time management skills Flexibility working with a variety of individuals on a variety of projects as part of a team that works together to accomplish the diverse tasks associated with maintenance, custodial, grounds and landscape construction What you are required to know: We are an EEO employer. You may have to bend, sit or stand for prolonged periods of time, lift, pull, push and/or move up to 75 lbs. This is a temporary full-time (40 hours/week) hourly position. You may have to work evenings and/or weekends to assist with special events or emergencies.
