Church Custodian Position Available In Duval, Florida

Church Custodian St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church 12760 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32246 Overview We are seeking a skilled Custodian to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the functionality of our facilities. This position is responsible for building and grounds maintenance, event rental support, custodial support, along with various other campus-wide responsibilities as outlined below. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse skill set, including knowledge and experience with various basic maintenance tasks. This position is essential for ensuring a safe, efficient, and well-maintained campus. Duties and Responsibilities Daily review of entire church campus at the start of every shift to identify any issues Minor building, equipment and system repairs and maintenance Operating tools and equipment safely Emergency clean ups and repairs Moving/adjusting of building furnishings Cleaning needed outside of contracted services Upkeep of grounds and landscaping outside of contracted services Painting Maintain work orders, coordinate and report all daily operational work activities to the Campus Manager Set up and breakdown for church sacraments, meetings, events, etc. Other duties as assigned by Campus Director and Priest Qualifications Proven knowledge and skills with hands-on experience in basic facility maintenance and repairs Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team Ability to work varying hours and days as needed Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical labor, work off ladders and stand for extended periods High school diploma or equivalent
