The Custodian will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Duties Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming to maintain cleanliness in assigned areas. Conduct facilities maintenance tasks to ensure all equipment is in good working condition. Carry out custodial duties such as trash removal, restroom sanitation, and replenishing supplies. Assist with floor care including buffing and waxing as needed to maintain high standards of cleanliness. Support industrial cleaning efforts in larger facilities or during special events. Engage in porter duties by moving furniture or equipment as required for events or maintenance activities. Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. Notify Facility Administrator regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems. Qualifications Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning preferred but not required. Knowledge of facilities maintenance practices is advantageous. Familiarity with floor care techniques such as buffing is a plus. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing time effectively. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a team-oriented environment.
