Job Title:

Janitor Job Description A janitor, also known as a cleaner or custodian, is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities such as schools, offices, hospitals, and residential buildings. Here are some common duties and responsibilities of a janitor:

Cleaning and Maintenance:

This includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, dusting surfaces, and cleaning windows and mirrors12.

Disinfecting:

Regularly disinfecting commonly used items like desks, door handles, and office tools to ensure a hygienic environment1.

Trash Management:

Emptying trash cans and recycling bins, and ensuring proper disposal of waste materials3.

Minor Repairs:

Performing minor repairs such as changing light bulbs, fixing leaky pipes, and maintaining HVAC systems2.

Outdoor Maintenance:

Tasks like mowing lawns, trimming bushes, and removing debris or snow from sidewalks1.

Restocking Supplies:

Keeping restrooms stocked with necessary supplies like paper products and toiletries2. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 – $17.00/hr.
