Cleaner/Kennel Assistant Islandside Animal Hospital 290 Nicholas Parkway NW, Cape Coral, FL 33991 Islandside Animal Hospital is a 5-Doctor veterinary hospital in Cape Coral, FL. We currently treat canine and feline pets. Recently we have grown to need a Full-Time Kennel Attendant/Cleaner. Open to part-time as well knowing weekends and holidays will be required with ideally at least 1 year of veterinary/boarding experience. Experience with eVetPractice/Pulse Software also a plus. Job duties include, but are not limited to: The kennel tech is responsible for the intake and discharging, care, feeding, medicating and cleaning of our patients in the boarding facility. This job involves cleaning (dusting, wiping down fixtures, cleaning and stocking between exams, etc.), laundry, checking in and out boarders, bathing, feeding, walking dogs, and medicating. You are responsible for restocking hospital supplies, helping with post-operative patients as instructed by doctors or technicians, assisting doctors and assistants with animal restraint and exams. You will be responsible for proper recordkeeping of medications, special foods, appetite, behavior and any issue that may arise while the animal is in our care. You will be trained to clean and sterilize surgical instruments. This position can be a great entry level position for someone looking to get into the field. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated (able to stay busy), have great work ethic, and be able to fill any and all downtime with productive tasks. Holiday hours worked (New Years Day, Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve [PM], and Christmas) are paid at Overtime wages. We are looking for someone with: Cleans and sanitizes all cages, runs, wards, counter tops and related areas Cleans and Stocks common areas such as bathrooms, break room, and treatment area. Mopping and sweeping entire hospital Gives baths (ordinary cleansing, flea, medicated) and performs whatever minor grooming may be necessary to the treatment and constant cleanliness of each animal.
