Janitor – Maintenance 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 2509 Gulf Of Mexico Drive, Longboat Key, FL 34228 Michael Saunders & Company is seeking a full time Maintenance/Janitorial Person for the Veranda Beach Club on Longboat Key, who will be responsible for repair of the resort property and all forms of recreational equipment offered by the resort, ensuring safe usage by owners and guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following includes, but is not limited to, the essential duties and responsibilities for this job description. Maintains a professional, friendly and positive attitude with owners, guests and staff. Maintain common areas, by cleaning, floors, walls, stairs, pool area, lighting, elevators, etc. Repair interior walls, floors, and ceilings of all units on the resort property. Repair exterior features on resort property (not structural). Repair/replace/clean outside furniture located around swimming pools and in the courtyard. Clean and maintain pool and spa for proper PH levels daily. Clean and repair barbeque grills daily. Perform maintenance checks on kitchen appliances, light fixtures, lamps, bathroom fixtures, plumbing, calking of tubs and showers, furnishings in addition to doors, windows, carpeting/area rugs, etc., after guests/owners check out each Saturday. Report repairs requiring outside contractors. Touch up paint and caulk as needed. Maintain tools to extend usage.

Qualifications:

Dependable, capable of handling emergencies, pleasant personality and positive demeanor. Responds promptly to owner & guest requests and needs. General knowledge of cleaning, appliances, carpentry, painting, general repairs, basic plumbing and electrical knowledge.

Education and/or experience:

High school education and two-three years experience in resort maintenance, or the equivalent, are the minimum requirements for this position.

Language skills:

Must read, write and speak English. Speaking Spanish would be considered a plus. Certificates, licenses, registrations: Valid Driver’s License, Vehicle Working hours/days: The Michael Saunders & Company Maintenance/Janitorial Person at Veranda Beach Club on Longboat Key performs all above referenced tasks Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm with one-half hour for lunch with Thursday and Friday off.
