Janitor and Cleaner Helping Hands Helpcare Fernandina Beach, FL 32035 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks, with an emphasis on quality and efficiency. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors to ensure cleanliness. Conduct industrial cleaning in designated areas, adhering to safety protocols. Maintain custodial supplies and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition. Execute floor care tasks such as buffing, waxing, and polishing surfaces as needed. Assist with residential painting projects when required, ensuring high-quality finishes. Carry out commercial cleaning duties in offices, restrooms, and common areas to maintain hygiene standards. Respond promptly to cleaning requests from staff or management to address any urgent needs. Monitor the cleanliness of facilities regularly and report any maintenance issues or repairs needed. Qualifications Previous experience in facilities maintenance or custodial services is preferred. Knowledge of industrial cleaning techniques and equipment operation is a plus. Familiarity with residential painting practices is beneficial but not mandatory. Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Physical stamina to perform cleaning duties that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
