Position SummaryThe EVS Technician Level lV isresponsible for providing a safe care environment for patients, and staff (visitors as appropriate to setting) within a specialty area (surgical services/peri-operative suite, Cath lab, endoscopy etc.) achieved by demonstrating the principles of cleaning, disinfection, and quality assurance toward the reduction of harmful pathogens for the benefit of patients, visitors, and staff. While executing the assigned tasks, the EVS Tech will have contact with patients and perhaps family. Responsible for ensuring timely room turns related to patient throughput within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. The environmental services technician, in accordance with organizational standards of quality, is an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention and patient experience. ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, using appropriate designated engagement techniques. Responsible for cleaning and disinfection ofspecialty units& equipment. Areasinclude but are notlimited to Surgical Services, Labor Delivery, Critical Care, Angio, Endoscopy, MRI, Trauma, Cath Lab, NICU, Mental Health and Burn Unit. Adheresto all organization safety, risk management and infection control standards while promoting a culture ofsafety. Accountable for accurately maintaining all appropriate logs and check lists/sheets current. Responsible for cleaning and disinfection of equipment and areas of assignment according to procedures, policies, and manufacturer recommendations. Demonstrates understanding of the training and education related to evidence-based recommendations in accordance with the Association for the Health Care Environment (AHE), Association for Professional in Infection Control (APIC) and Association for periOperative Nurses (AORN), CDC, The Joint Commission, and other regulatory bodies. Actively participatesin departmental performance improvementinitiatives, including but notlimited to initiativesto improve patient experience and cleanliness metrics. Maintainssupplies and equipment by properly stocking and restocking environmentalservices cartin a neat and orderly fashion. Removes waste and transport to appropriate disposal area while identifying proper waste streams(i.e.,regulatedmedical, recycle, solid, and hazardous). Operates UV disinfection machine as needed or according to policy. Follows all environmental and infection prevention practices (i.e., proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene,standard& isolation precautions, as well as proper donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Recognizes and adheres to patient privacy requirements (HIPAA) Reports unsafe situations and turnsin Engineering Service Requestsforrepair. Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards. Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Other Related Functions Practices critical thinking skills to include prioritization of duties and immediate needs/requests(Stat cleans) Identify and utilize appropriate resources to ensure identified problems or concerns are followed through Demonstrate knowledge of facility safety requirements. Demonstrates the ability to operate all EVS tools and equipment needed to clean and disinfect the environment. Assists in onboarding new Environmental Services Technicians I, II, III and IV s asrequested Complete other task as assigned by EVS leadership. QualificationsEducation/TrainingHigh School Diploma or GED preferredLicensure/CertificationCertified Surgical Cleaning Technician (CSCT) preferred.

Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) preferred.
