Position Summary
Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Providing compassionate care to the children, teenagers and young adults of Central Florida for more than 30 years, Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is located on the downtown Orlando campus and includes 156 licensed beds for specialized care for children as well as the Bert Martin’s Champions for Children Emergency Department & Trauma Center, offering trauma care for children as the pediatric site of the Orlando Health ORMC Level One Trauma Center. State-of-the-art pediatric services are provided by a comprehensive staff that includes pediatric subspecialty physicians and a nursing team that is “Magnet” recognized for nursing excellence and high-quality patient care. The hospital also has earned national recognition for 12 consecutive years as a “Best Children’s Hospitals” by U.S. News & World Report and was included, together with Orlando Health ORMC, in the IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals® list for 2021. Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Food and Nurition is seeking a Porter. The Porter is responsible for the general maintenance and cleaning of hard surfaced floors, walls, windows, doors, drains, counters and food service
equipment, to include the kitchen coolers, store rooms, dining areas and the cafeteria.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Assists with non-patient food services as needed.
- Ensures all trash receptacles are emptied and cleaned.
- Moves furniture, equipment and other items as required.
- Stocks food, paper, and beverage supplies, using proper shelf rotation procedures.
- Communicates proper information regarding patient, non-patient or departmental needs to Group Leaders, Food Service
Supervisors or the Support Services Manager. - Accomplishes other duties as directed.
- Models essential service behaviors, such as excellent communication and customer service skills with patients, nursing staff, and visitors.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Other Related Functions - Participates in monthly departmental meetings and all related inservices.
- Observes all departmental rules and regulations.
- Follows outlined cleaning procedures of patient tray delivery carts as needed.
- Assists in dishroom area as needed.
- Aware of and follows all universal precautions as they apply to food services.
- Aware of and follow all Food Borne Illness prevention and sanitation requirements.
- Interacts appropriately with a culturally diverse population.
- Follows chain of command when communicating departmental and individual concerns or problems.
- Knowledgeable of Patient Satisfaction goals. Works consistently to exceed the department’s and Orlando Health’s objectives by reporting concerns and suggesting creative ideas.
- Recognizes that flexibility is paramount and change is continuous; the team member must embrace, encourage and drive change; approach situations and challenges with an open mind; work rotating shifts according to experience and business needs; be able and willing to be cross-trained in varied positions and performs any and all other duties as assigned.
